DAVID WASHINGTON(6) 1831- 1921
David Washington, the fourteenth child of Robert(5) was born in Randolph County, raised in Braxton County, and lived and raised his family in Calhoun County, all in West Virginia. His mother was Robert(5)'s second wife, Edith Skidmore. He married at the age of 24 to a girl of 19, Caroline Mollohan, daughter of William M. Mollohan and Elizabeth Lemasters Boggs. They had 10 children, all born in present day Calhoun County. The David and his family were enumerated in every census of Calhoun Co. from 1860 to 1920.
David was a farmer and also engaged in timber and stock business. At one point he owned 700 acres of land in West Virginia. Caroline died at age 74 on November 16, 1910. He lived to age 89, dying on July 23, 1921 in Calhoun Co., WV. David and Caroline are buried in the Chenoweth-Smith cemetery near Nicut, Calhoun Co., WV. It was At David's urging that the Randolph Co. family reunions were started in 1915 in Elkins, WV. Much of David's family still lives in Central West Virginia.
